About the Author
Robert N. Lussier is Professor of Management at Springfield College. Having taught management for more than 25 years, he has developed innovative and widely copied methods for applying concepts and developing skills that can be used personally and professionally. A prolific writer, Dr. Lussier has more than 350 publications to his credit, including other best selling textbooks (such as Management Fundaments: Concepts, Applications, Skill Development, also by South-Western/Cengage) and articles published in Academy of Entrepreneurship Journal, Business Horizons, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review, and Journal of Small Business Strategy and many others. He served as founding director of Israel Programs and taught courses in Israel. His international experience also stretches to Namibia and South Africa. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Salem State College, master's degrees in education and business administration from Suffolk University, and a doctorate in management from the University of New Haven.

Very poor quality printing & binding

This is a good text book. However, the poor quality of the printing and binding of the copy I received is irritating to say the least. The print is kind of blurred like an old photocopy, the cover is detached and some of the pages are loose, I have to keep it together with a rubber band. I will not purchase a second hand book from Amazon ever again.

Wrong book/slow shipping

Do not order from this listing. The book I received was not the book I ordered, it was not in color, and it had stickers all over the cover hiding what I wasn't supposed to see. I also ordered the book on January 2nd and did not receive it until today. I am very upset with this service.

Just a repeat

Although continually reading and absorbing the Course is a good thing, this Book adds no insight to the Course. These daily lessons are merely reprints of parts of the Course. You would do better reading the Course itself or picking up 365 Daily Reflections to act on the Course or A Year of Miracles to better absorb and understand the Course.. Very disappointed.

Only one side of the gold coin.

Being a student of ACIM for over 30 years I have great appreciation for this monumental work. I also enjoy books from students. This book is a valuable daily reminder of some of the beautiful passages but far from the true value of the work. The main focus of the Course is to remove the blocks to the as awareness of Love.

I dearly appreciate Robert's contributions in this world and that is why I gave it 3 stars. However I would caution any readers of this book and any other book regarding the Course in assuming anything about the work itself or how it transforms the mind. READ THE COURSE ITSELF to get the full Monte.

Robert Collier first became best known as a great advertising copywriter of the early twentieth century. After overcoming an undiagnosed illness without traditional medical treatment he became more interested in practical psychology and the power of the mind.

He began to write books related to metaphysics and the New Thought movement. His best selling “The Secret of the Ages” has sold more than a million copies and has been translated into German, Italian, French, and Spanish. This special edition was originally published in 1927 as "The Secret of Gold." It's title has been modified to better represent its contents in the present day.

Did I miss something?

I honestly feel bad about writing this negative review, but I just don't understand how this is motivational. After reading three great reviews I thought this would be a great read - I was wrong. The book begins with the story of Aladdin, then another story, then another story. Then there are several Bible verses and tons of "I once met a man who..." stories, more Bible verses, quotes from successful people and references to people throughout history. Explanations on religion and science; how the two are different yet both correct. It is very clear-cut, however, if you are looking to read stories about how other people have become successful. "They started something." This was obviously written in a different generation and after the story of the 30something "negro" I put it down. I found two inspirational quotes that were certainly not worth my $.99.

Maybe I expected this book to be something it's not, but I am disappointed.

I highly recommend everyone reads this book

Everyone should read this book. I've talked to professed christians about the Law of Attraction and they've hit me with that satan BS. This stuff IS IN THEIR BIBLE. Ask, believe, receive- Mark 11:24. Ignorance is NOT bliss, people! Their DNA has been encoded with misinterpretations and warnings from those who have led humanity astray for far too long. I highly recommend everyone reads this book! My son is now reading it and I hope and believe it will help change his life for the better.

Brilliant!

This book, for me, was a spiritual and motivational journey. The writing is brilliant and the concepts are endlessly inspiring. Robert Collier's unique style and philosophies urged me from page to page with no desire to put it down. This book is my new personal guide to my dreams & desires and I'm confident it will help me get there. Highly recommended

Fast Paced Excellent Novella

A space-opera you can read in a weekend. Generally I'm a full-blown novel fan and the shorter stuff isn't really for me, but M. Pax, with her approximately 13,000 words, changed my mind.

I downloaded it when I wasn't feeling well and by the next day, felt good enough to decide I needed to be reading something. This was it.

Though her main character spends a lot of time in isolation M. Pax does a great job of invoking all five senses in the reader, of drawing you into the world of this lone solider who's main company is ghost-brigades and memories. Her heroine is wonderfully human and it's easy to identify with her fears, sense of determination and struggle to do what's required of her.

Excellent read and certainly just this side of free at .99 on Kindle and other outlets.

A perfect space opera

For a science-fiction novella, this story is well-deserved of five stars. M.Pax convincingly creates a strange world and infuses it with mechanics that seem so real to the person living in it that it can be no less real for us. Of particular interest to me was the second skin or armor that Leda wore. It not only had intelligence but was responsible for her extreme longevity. The only thing that I don't like about the story are the things that are NOT addressed. For example, there is a huge history here that begs to be told. I hope that the author explores it in future tales. If you like your science-fiction as hard as a computer case, you will like this novel. Told in third-person, I thought that it could easily stand a place next to the works of Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Heinlein (though there is no snark in her writing as there is in Heinlein). The vocabulary and sentence structure though is definitely similar in flavor as is the sobering plot.

Intriguing, fast-paced and vivid

Though I'm not normally a sci-fi reader, I wanted to branch out a bit and try something different. My friend sent me M. Pax's Plantgirl (free download at [...]) and loved it so I thought I'd give this a try. I was NOT disappointed! Not only did the author do a great job at creating a vivid, dark and intriguing world, but the plot was compelling and fast-paced. Her heroine's struggles between duty and hope were believable and full of emotion. It was a page-turner! I look forward to reading more from M. Pax.
