A look behind the scenes
By Shannon
First off, if you haven't read Existence or Predestined, then don't read this novella. Read those first and then read this. I loved this. It was a collection of scenes from Leif's point of view. Not an entire story, just various scenes that Leif was in from both Existence and Predestined. I admit, there were some scenes that I wasn't sure what they were at first, but that's probably because I read the books so long ago.
It felt like I was able to find out what happened behind the scenes, when we weren't with Pagan and Death, which was really cool. I definitely would recommend this to fans of the series, because it gives you more insight into the story and more insight into Leif's character, which is needed for his spinoff series that is coming up!
Great job Abbi 5 stars once again!

Wanted more.
By H.M.B
Book 2.5... I love Leif and although he may not deserve the girl, I wanted him to get her in this book. Why should death always win? In the first two books I was all for Death and Pagan falling in love but seeing it from Leif's POV does leave you with a feeling of lose for him and wishing that things could have turned out in his favor. but then you have to remember how Pagan has felt through this whole expereince and then you're back on Dank's side.

Loved it!
By Step Into Fiction
Only Abbi Glines can make you loathe a character in one book and make you love him in another book. That is exactly what happened to me when I read Leif. I can say I didn't exactly hate Leif in Predestined but he definitely wasn't my favorite guy either, and towards the end of Predestined part of me did feel sorry for him, but once I read Leif, my perspective has changed so much.

Let me just say, one of the first lines in Leif is exactly what Ceaseless will be about and it sends chills down my spine. "The soul that the Creator had made to be her mate was gone. He'd moved away." Damn, what is going to happen to Pagan and Dank?! Oh I can't wait! Anyway, back to Leif. I really loved getting the story from his perspective, especially since for the almost the whole book of Existence, we didn't know that he wasn't human, I think that changes things a bit, not being human, different emotions on his end. It was very interesting to me that Leif seemed to fear Dank so much, and also interesting to me that he couldn't see him. This makes me wonder now throughout Existence, did Dank know that Leif wasn't human this whole time? Did he know by his actions that he'd be sending her into someone's arms that wasn't human?

I really felt bad for Leif, all he wanted was what he was promised and he grew to love Pagan over the years. He just wanted love, but what he didn't realize until the end of his story/Predestined is that you can't force someone to love you no matter what actions you have done for them. A soul wants who it wants, and sadly for Leif Pagan's soul wanted Dank.

I am however interested in this red-head girl, Sabine, that is in Vilokan looking for her sister. I can see Leif already having eyes for her, and with the last line of this story, "I'm not my father. I'm nothing like my father. That's the problem." There seems to be a lot left unanswered. Does Sabine find her sister? Does Leif start to have feelings for Sabine? What happens if Ghede finds out she is there? I am wondering if Abbi is going to write a little more with this story. Because I think this could be another amazing novel!! I loved Leif, it was great to see the story through his eyes and understand him!! Amazing job Abbi!!!
