Against All Odds (Forever and Ever #9), by E. L. Todd

Cayson and Skye are in the same city, and they begin to work on their complicated, difficult to explain, and confusing relationship. Every time Skye is near Cayson, she melts into a puddle. Cayson gets close, but like he’s been burned, he runs away. His pain and mistrust keep him away from Skye. She does everything she can to win him back, but one bad mistake could push them further apart.

Conrad is depressed over Beatrice. He chooses to stay in his room and avoid Theo and Alex, who are happier than ever. He tries to get on with his life but it’s difficult when Beatrice is all he can think about.

Theo feels bad for Conrad, who’s quickly become his closest friend. He can’t stand the way he’s hurting, and decides to take matters into his own hands. He returns to Cambridge and tells Beatrice what she’s missing. But will that be enough to make her come back?

Arsen is rotting in jail and playing by the rules for the first time in his life. But Silke is all he can think about. He made the right decision cutting her out of his life, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t break his heart in the process. But when he has a visitor, he’s surprised to see it’s not Silke, but her father. What does he want?

Trinity starts her new job, but it’s not as glamorous as she thought it would be. Her boss is a nightmare. But she has Slade to support her, who’s always there to lend her a shoulder. Somehow, they fall more in love than before, and grasp onto each other while they see Skye and Cayson struggle.

Flipping addictive!

What a carry on!

Happy for Alex and Theo, things seem to be going in the right direction, working out nicely.

When Beatrice finally pulled her head out of her ass, only after Theo put her straight! I wanted Conrad to to make her squirm a little longer, but they are a cute couple.

Slade and Trinity make me laugh, they have a really deep love for each other, then there's their fighting, makes me think 'get over yourselves!' then the sexy part takes over, they are so great together. Her new boss at Vogue sounds like a right bitch, but the young guy there helped make her first day more enjoyable, loved how Slade only took the young guy from her telling him about the whole day.

Roland, glad he finally found a job even if its an unpaid one! His boss, what a cow! can't wait to see how he settles in. I'm not sure about Heath, part of me thinks he is a good guy, but then there is something that makes you think he has an ulterior motive. I have a feeling Heath is going to pursue Roland, romantically, that wold make interesting reading. I have never met an bunch of Total Alpha men!

Then we get poor Silke, Ok Asher got caught doing something wrong and needs to pay his penance, I love Ryan, and not totally sure if he has an ulterior motive and maybe sees it as a way to keel Asher and Silke apart after he is released.

Then we have the enigma that is Carson and Skye! He is ragging it our for no other reason than to punish Skye, for what she put him through. I dont think he has actually thought about and i mean really thought about Skye's motives. She was also in such a bad place, even when she tried seducing him. He needs to Man up, draw a line in the sand and move on.

OK its not going to disappear overnight but even when she mentioned going to California to visit and found a girl on the doorstep, he didn't even give a decent excuse, considering how he used to treat Skye.

At this precise moment I actually don't want them to get back together, I feel its going to get a lot worse before it gets any better. .
Maybe other love interests might actually help them both get over the feelings of hurting each other and themselves, it doesn't even need to be a sexual relationship, just new friends outside their circle.

What Skye did was dreadful but I feel she has also suffered to.

Your book, this make believe world of 'The Prestons' is like an addictive drug - I can't stop reading the installments; even stopping other books mid-way to get my next fix!

Addictive!!

Against All Odds by E.L. Todd

Conrad and Beatrice, okay I love Conrad, I’m going to keep him, there is this vulnerability about him. There seems to be this void in his heart after Beatrice hurts him and walks away. He withdraws from his friends purely because he wants to let them be happy and not be dragged down his sadness and depression. Bless him, you can see that he is trying to be positive and move forward but that isn’t so easy when he can’t stop thinking about her.

Theo can tell that Conrad isn’t happy and he’s slowly become Conrad’s best friend so as he isn’t happy with the way Beatrice left. He tells her that but I don’t know if it will be enough for her. I am sad that these two seem to be over before they’ve even began, however I am going to hold onto some hope that they can sort it out. I need them to sort it out.

Arsen; my bad boy, dude, seriously? I am glad that he’s playing by the rules now that he’s been banged up but at the same time I’m sad for him and Silkie. Arsen knows that not having her in his life is a good thing but at the same time he misses her. Heck I miss them being together. Ooh his visitor, that changes things, it makes this a lot more interesting. I won’t spoil it but read it and see what happens!

Trinity’s boss, what a creep. I want Slade to sort him out but I love how the situation makes their love stronger than ever before. There is something so special about these two but they struggle with their happiness as their best friends’ are not happy. Again Skye in my honest opinion is to blame. I truly believe that Cayson is better off without her, he can do so much better than someone who plays games to get what they think is the best result.

4 stars!

Love the Story lines but is missing something...
By April
I love this Series and I loved the one before it. The difference between the adults and the kids, These kids act like spoiled brats who the world owes everything too. Cayson and Skye just irritate me. Skye needs to grow up and stop playing childish games (she is nothing like her mom) and Cayson needs to drop her like a bad habit. I get why she did it, but it doesn't make it right and she went around it the wrong way and is playing the victim. Cayson is a lot like his dad and his dad finally got his and his moms relationship together but it was a struggle just like his and Skyes. Skye needs to grow up and act not only as an adult but one who is taking over a company. I love Slade and Trinity but would like to see them develop better. They were developing very well before they left College and now it seems they too have returned to their childish antics. I hope Silke and Arsen can work out their problems and he can see that he is worthy of love and a family. The rest of the characters at the moment seem to be making headway with their lives, I hope it continues. And Beatrice needs to get off her high-horse and just be with Conrad. She is no better than anyone else and just because her dad treated her mom horrible doesn't mean it will happen to her, but I also think she needs to hear her father out and try to understand his point (give him a chance).

As for the Author, I don't know if writing these books so fast is the cause or if no one proof reads these books before they are published but for the love of all things GET SOMEONE TO PROOF READ! These books are full of Mistakes and misspelled words. It is like a young teenager wrote them. I love the story lines but it is not fair to spend the three dollars for every book when they are poorly written. Since I am so into these book and wait for them to come out weekly (it seems), I will just endure it and fix the writing in my head as I read.
